July 16, 2008

Japanese beauty products maker Shiseido has announced the addition of a new beauty cream to their premium brand Cle de Peau Beaute. The cream will be a part of the Synergique line and will retail for ¥126,000 for a 4 gram container. The new premium crème will be made available to the public from September 21, 2008. This is the most expensive and premium crème from Shiseido to date and will be available domestically at specialty shops and selected department stores.

The new crème is considered to be superior for skin whitening and preventing dry skin and it is said that immediately upon using the crème skin becomes very moist and smooth. The target market of the product is mainly very affluent females in their 30's or older.

Rival cosmetics company Kanebo had already released their premium beauty cream in 2005, the Twany Century Cell Rhythm SP. The Twany series is only available in limited batches with reservations required months in advance. According to the Kanebo website the reservation period for this year's Twany products runs from June 16th to August 22nd with orders available in November.
