Uniqlo, Jil Sander tie-up: +J

10, July 2009

Major Japanese casual fashion retailer Uniqlo announced the name of it's highly anticipated tie-up collection with fashion designer Jil Sander earlier this week. The collection, originally announced in March of this year, will be dubbed "+J."

The +J collection, planned for launch in October of this year, will initially carry 140 items (100 for women, 40 for men), including shirts, jackets and slacks.

Items from the collection will be available at all major Uniqlo shops in Japan and overseas. Within Japan, items from the +J collection are expected to retail for 1,000 to 2,000 JPY (10 to 20 USD) above Uniqlo's standard items, with an average price of 4,000 to 5,000 JPY (40-50 USD) for a shirt or a pair of slacks. +J collection items will be distinguished from Uniqlo's other products by a black "+J" logo on the item's tag.
