British fashion brand, Vivienne Westwood opened a new flagship men's only shop in Aoyama, Tokyo on October 16, 2008. The new concept store is uniquely designed, drawing inspiration from the British landmark Stonehenge.

Comfort Zone, one of Italy's top beauty spa and cosmetic brands, announced it would be launching in Japan on October 27, as "Comfort Japan." Comfort Zone shops and products are planned for introduction into numerous department stores, spa retailers, and resorts within Japan in the coming months.

On October 16th it was formally announced that Mori Trust would be sponsoring development of Sendai Trust City, a new large-scale, multipurpose property development, in Sendai, Japan. Sendai is the largest city in Japan's Tohoku region, and serves as the region's commercial capital. A tower, containing office space and a luxury hotel, is to anchor the new development.

InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) has announced it will introduce its boutique hotel brand, Hotel Indigo, to Japan and the Asia pacific region in coming months. IHG currently operates 4 brands, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express already in 19 countries in the region, and is looking to add Hotel Indigo as a new type of offering.

The new limited edition watch was developed specifically for the Japanese luxury goods market is not planned for launch anywhere else. The watch will run on a quartz battery, with a new custom face and bracelet design to infuse a fresh, modern image and feature the Bvlgari brand name.
